Exams

  • Available worldwide at: Pearson VUE test centers and OnVUE
  • Scoring method: Answers must be 100% correct for credit. No partial credit is given. There are no deductions for incorrect answers.
  • Type of questions: Multiple choice and multiple select
  • Time required between attempts: 15 days
  • Transcript and certificate: Your Fortinet Training Institute transcript is updated within five business days after you pass the exam. After that, you will be able to download a printable certificate from the Fortinet Training Institute.

To achieve this certification, you must pass one NSE 6 exam and the NSE 7 exam within two years. The certification will be active for two years from the date of the second exam.

You will receive digital badges under the following circumstances:

  • Exam badge: Each time you pass any version of the exam included in FCSS in Secure Networking.
  • Certification badge: Once you achieve the requirements for the FCSS in Secure Networking certification.

Recertification

  • If your FCSS in Secure Networking certification has expired, you must pass one NSE 6 exam and the NSE 7 exam within two years apart to renew your certification.
  • While your FCSS in Secure Networking certification is still active, you can extend the expiration date by two years from the date you complete the following requirement:
    • Pass any one NSE 6 exam and the NSE 7 exam from the FCSS in Secure Networking certification track before the expiry date.
  • While your FCSS in Secure Networking certification is still active, you can extend the expiration date by three years from the date you achieve or recertify the FCX in Cybersecurity certification.
  • Passing one NSE 6 exam and the NSE 7 exam recertifies your FCP in Secure Networking, FCF, and FCA certifications if they are still active.
