Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the learner should be able to:

- Describe array grouping structure
- Configure ports

- Create and configure LUNs
- Create and allocate logical storage groups
- Allocate storage capacity to servers
- Create, configure, and allocate LUN size expansion volumes
- Install Device Manager Agent software
- Perform Pair Volume operations
- Create, configure, and manage external storage systems

- Describe the SMI-S management capabilities
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting functions
- Know how Device Manager can be used to manage Vmware

Course Content
This 2,5-day instructor led course provides the fundamentals of Hitachi Device Manager software v6.x and discusses its ease of use in managing Hitachi storage systems. This course trains participants in standard workflow techniques for successfully managing storage using Device Manager software. Extensive hands on lab exercises using both Hitachi enterprise and modular storage systems are included.
In addition to addressing configuration, administration, operation, and storage management, a special focus is directed at Device Manager software best practices. Pair volume operations, command line interface, external storage, VMware management and maintenance and troubleshooting are discussed.
