EMC Ionix MPLS Manager (Smarts) (MPLS)

 

Who should attend

This course is intended for anyone responsible for managing an MPLS environment, with the EMC Smarts Network Management suite.

Prerequisites

To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student must have a suitable knowledgebase/skill set. The student must have an understanding of the EMC Smarts Service Assurance Manager, EMC Smarts IP Network Management Suite as well as a basic understanding of TCP/IP and the MPLS protocols. A list of specific prerequisite courses can be found in EMC Education Services Learning Management System.

  • Understand the Architecture components that comprise the MPLS Manager
  • List some features of the MPLS Manager
  • List the steps involved in an MPLS Manager installation
  • Configuration requirements after installation
  • Factors involved in performing Discovery of an MPLS environment
  • Remote Ping
  • LSP Ping
  • What are overlapping IP addresses
  • Describe how MPLS Manager discovers IP Networks, and can distinguish between duplicate IP addresses
  • Explain the use of VPN IP Tagging Server

  • Examining the Topology Browser for MPLS objects and relationships
  • Executing Remote and LSP Pings to test network integrity
