Prerequisites
To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student must have a suitable knowledgebase/skill set. The student must have an understanding of he student must have an understanding of EMC Ionix ITops ASL. Course Objectives
This hands-on course will provide you with a thorough understanding of how to use EMC
Smarts Adapters to extend the breadth and intelligence of EMC Smarts Service Assurance
Manager. Through hands-on labs you will see how information can be imported via SNMP
trap integration, the syslog adapter, and the command line interface, and how data can be
exported via custom adapters. You will configure and customize each of these adapters.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Process topology and event information from any source
- Configure and customize the Service Assurance Manager Platform
- Use the command line interface to process data from multiple sources
- Configure and run the SNMP Trap Receiver to process SNMP Traps
- Configure and run the EMC Smarts Syslog Adapter to process syslog messages
- Configure and run notification adapters to export information from an EMC Smarts server
