NAS Symmetrix Business Continuity (NSNASB)

This course is intended for anyone who plans to implement Celerra with a Symmetrix backend using TimeFinder/FS and/or SRDF as part of a file replication strategy for business continuity or disaster recovery.

To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student must have a suitable knowledgebase/skill set. The student must have an understanding of NAS Operations and Management. A list of specific prerequisite courses can be found in EMC Education Services Learning Management System.

This course focuses on business continuity tools used to provide local and remote file system replication for NAS in a Symmetrix environment. It provides students lecture and hands-on instruction on the functionality and the implementation of NAS solutions using TimeFinder/FS and Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF). The course also focuses on practical implementation ideas for these solutions. This course supports Celerra 5.6.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Describe the concepts of Business Continuity
• Identify the components of the Symmetrix that make up the TimeFinder feature
• Describe and implement Celerra TimeFinder/FS, TimeFinder/FS NearCopy and TimeFinder/FS FarCopy
• Identify the components of the Symmetrix that make up the Symmetrix Remote Data Facility
• Describe and implement Celerra Symmetrix Remote Data Facility
