CLARiiON Performance Workshop (MR-1CP-CPERET)

This course is intended for any person who presently or plans to:

• Manage CLARiiON performance
• Architect and position customer solutions with CLARiiON

To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student should have knowledge and skills associated with the following:

• CLARiiON models, components, management options and features
• Data integrity and availability features found in a CLARiiON storage platform
• CLARiiON performance, storage configuration and provisioning concepts
• PowerPath performance, transparent recovery and availability features in an open systems host environment
• SAN terminology, features, architecture, theory of operations, and management for Fibre Channel and iSCSI SANs
• SnapView, MirrorView and SAN Copy operation, terminology and performance

This Expert level course provides a thorough exposure to performance on the CLARiiON CX4 series platform with FLARE Release 28.5 and Navisphere Version 6.28. Focus areas include the use of Navisphere Analyzer, Navisphere Manager and Navisphere CLI to gather performance statistics from the CLARiiON, and the analysis of those performance statistics. Other topics include gathering performance statistics from common host platforms, and the use of those statistics in performance analysis. The performance implications of using CLARiiON Replication Software (SnapView, MirrorView and SAN Copy) are covered in detail. The course is comprised of in-depth discussions and extensive hands on lab exercises.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Analyze CLARiiON performance issues
• Configure a CLARiiON for good performance
• Determine the impact of using CLARiiON Replication Software
