Kursziele
This course is designed to help students understand and implement proven integration
methodologies for Microsoft Exchange Server with the Symmetrix V-Max array. Students
will learn how to migrate an Exchange Server from direct-attached storage to a Symmetrix
V-Max array. Through integration with Microsoft's Virtual Shadow Copy Service (VSS),
students will implement local business continuance schemes using EMC's Replication
Manager (5.x) and the TimeFinder Exchange Integration Module to create clones of
production volumes.
Students will also learn how to use the TimeFinder Exchange Integration Module with
SRDF to create remote replication solutions. In conjunction with this, a student will
understand the various configurations available to prepare for disaster recovery of
Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 using SRDF/Synchronous, SRDF/S Adaptive Copy, and
SRDF/A replication topologies.
This Expert level course supports the EMC Proven Professional Program – Business
Continuity Specialty Tracks.
- Discuss the configuration of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 for use with Symmetrix V-Max storage arrays
- Explain EMC² best practices for Exchange Server 2007
- Install, configure, and execute backups using TimeFinder Exchange Integration Module (TF/EIM) on a single Symmetrix V-Max
- Configure and execute backups using EMC² Replication Manager on a single Symmetrix V-Max
- Perform server recovery from a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 backup host by utilizing Business Continuance Volumes
- Install, configure, and execute backups using TimeFinder Exchange Integration Module (TF/EIM) across multiple arrays using Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF)
- Discuss methods of effectively troubleshooting replication issues with Exchange 2007 on Symmetrix V-Max
